SUMMER IN SOUTH DAKOTA 2009

Hi everyone -- As stated in my profile, I am going to try this BLOG to keep in touch with everyone! I never got it going in 2007 and YES, we did have a WONDERFUL trip WEST in 2007...covering thousands of miles! Again in 2008 we traveled WEST...flying to Denver, renting a car, meeting up with sister & brother-in-law, Irma and Clarence Hall (Clarence passed away in November, 2008 so the trip is a VERY SPECIAL time spent with him and Irma). Last year we drove 4500 miles in a rental car and toured out from Denver, CO to the Rocky Mountain National Park, northward to Wyoming (where we shared a 100+ year old cabin for a week) and visited Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks as well as the local village of Dubois, WY...then on northward to BIG SKY, MT, where we visited with cousins...then east across MT, back down into WY to CODY for a rodeo, on east to DEVILS TOWER...then eastward to South Dakota and MT RUSHMORE, CUSTER STATE PARK, WALL DRUG STORE, BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK then back to CO and another quick trip up MT. EVANS before returning to Denver where we all flew back to our homes. It was a fabulous trip, but we NEVER even dreamed that we would be back in that area again this summer! After returning home to FLORIDA, we decided that we REALLY wanted another travel trailer and we found and purchased one! Then we put an ad on several work camper sites. There was not much response, but then one day there was a message on our telephone who identified herself as Nancy and said she liked our resumes and would really like to speak with us about hosting at their place in the BLACK HILLS of SOUTH DAKOTA for 2009. We gave her a call and got the scoop, talked it over and called her back and said YES, WE WOULD LIKE TO GIVE IT A TRY! SO, the first of May, 2009 we will hook onto our travel trailer and set off for Lake Pactola, South Dakota...about 20 miles west of Rapid City, SD! Check out where we will be spending the summer at www.pactolapines.com or by simply clicking on the photo of Lake Pactola to the right of this article.
